What to catch at the Lowry over the coming weeks..
Catch “The Boyfriend” at the Lowry Studio Theatre from 21st * 23rd October. A musical comedy set in the 1920’s, it is about a finishing school for young ladies in the South of France. You can’t beat a laugh, some romance and a happily ever after! Tickets are £6.00.
Salford Macbeth from the National Youth Theatre looks like a certain must see with its community based 21st century adaptation of one of Shakespeares greatest works, with three crack head witches and a bloody gangland assassination. Running until Saturday 4th October, tickets are £8.00.
Over at the Lowry Galleries there’s an awfully interesting exhibition exploring the art of the pop-up! Showing work by some of the world’s leading illustrators, and even better than that is that you get an opportunity to create your very own pop up!! You can visit the exhibition until March 2009.
Another one for the kids now and it is “create your own masterpiece” time at the Lowry Galleries until November 2nd! A fund “hands on” day out for all the family, learn how Lowry created and developed his own style!
After gaining nationwide acknowledgement when the ladies of the Womens Institute in a Yorkshire town posed naked for a calendar to raise money for Charity a Hollywood movie made them inspirations to women everywhere, and now a theatrical adaptation graces the stages of The Lowry from Monday 20th - Saturday 25th October.
